To say Mackenzie was feeling major FOMO about getting maternity photos would be an understatement. This pregnant Mama, like so many first-time moms, did not take maternity photos with her first child. After seeing photos from friends and family, she knew if she ever had another baby she wanted to get professional photos taken.
Well, ya girl’s having a baby boy!
As soon as she found out she was pregnant, Mackenzie contacted me to book her maternity photos. (After telling her husband, Blake, and their daughter, of course!) She wanted to take some photos with her family and some solo.
Most women get maternity photos between 30 and 33 weeks, but it’s different for everyone. At 27 weeks, Mackenzie was feeling pretty good about her baby belly. She had that healthy, Mama glow going on, so we decided to do her photos a little earlier than “normal”. My goal was to really have her embrace that momma glow that most expecting mothers want to experience, plus give her the pamper treatment she missed out on the first time.
Makenzie is so gorgeous and laid back. She wanted to do a casual look in the photos with her family, so we styled everyone in cozy denim and white. It was a great choice! Not only did her daughter, Brooklyn, look so cute in her little overalls, but it let us play with naturally intimate photos between her and her husband.
When it was time to take her solo maternity photos, Mackenzie stunned in a beautiful eggshell teddy, with pearl-studded tulle maternity robe. She looks so fierce!
She loves her photos so much, she took it to Instagram in two posts to tote how much she enjoyed her pampering experience at our studio. You’re welcome, Mackenzie! We’re so glad you embraced all the joys of pregnancy.
Here’s what Makenzie had to say:
When I was pregnant with Brooklyn, one of my biggest regrets was not taking maternity photos.
I had them scheduled, but felt so large and so uncomfortable that I cancelled. After having her, I was even more amazed that my body carried her for 10 months and wished I had those photos to look back on. Growing a human is hard and I should’ve given myself more credit.
Shoutout to @angelicapompy with @pompyportraits for making me feel SO incredibly confident and proud during this shoot. Proud of the life I’ve made with my incredible husband. Proud of the mama I’ve become and strive to be. Proud to watch our daughter turning into her own little person. Proud of my body for growing another human.
Embracing the changes my body has gone through this go around. I know I’ll miss this belly once he’s here!
