If someone would have walked up to me 10 years ago and told me that I would host a sold-out event I would have laughed in their face. But it happened! I wanted a way to celebrate the incredible women in our community by offering a girls’ day out just for us. Turns out it’s not only something they wanted, but it’s also something that our community wanted in on. Why a Galentine’s Event?
Celebrating and empowering women is my life’s passion. It’s why I photograph maternity, newborn, and boudoir and that’s it. Taking a day to celebrate and pamper the women in my community was just one way to give back. We all work so hard and deserved a day out to celebrate who we are outside of the roles we play in our lives. So we popped the bubbly, made our own bouquets, and made new friends! I was absolutely blown away by the amount of support my Galentine’s event garnered from the other vendors and creatives here in Jacksonville. We had an incredible lineup of giveaways, gifts, and pampering throughout the night. A huge thank you to their support!
The Lark features over 4,000 square feet of open space, 14-foot ceilings, exposed wooden beams and brick walls, a built-in bar, antique windows and floors, with an outdoor patio. It was the perfect space for us to gather for this event in the heart of downtown Jacksonville.
Amanda is the lead florist/designer in her company and has over a decade of experience in the floral/wedding industry. On the days she isn’t slaying floral designs, she is coordinating and planning weddings with her incredible team. I have worked with Amanda for many projects in the past and knew she would be the perfect fit to lead the floral class for my Galentine’s Event. All the ladies left the event feeling confident in making their own floral bouquets from Trader Joe’s 😀
Regard Libations is a luxury full-service bartending company with mobile services based in Jacksonville but serving northeast Florida. Audrey is the owner and is the queen mixologist – she made custom cocktails to fit the theme of the event, it was such a cute touch and the ladies loved it. She also provided some stellar glassware for our drinks, we were feeling like fancy baddies hahaha.
Kelly is the Owner and Creative Director of Aura Event Company. She has a passion for art and finds herself drawn to all things creative and colorful. Kelly is the balloon wizard and created a beautiful garland for our photo ops area at my event.
Alley Cakes is a cake studio based in Neptune Beach and they pride themselves on making everything from scratch, offering the highest quality buttercream cakes, cake pops, macarons, oatmeal cream pies, and so much more. When you purchase a sweet treat from Alley Cakes it was definitely an unforgettable delicious taste. Alley provided for our Galentine event with cake pops and macarons along with the cutest display.
Tiffany with Purpose is a business wanting to encourage people to live life with intention by providing resources that nurture spiritual, mental, and emotional growth. She gave away a free journal to help that winner begin their journey to self-love, self-awareness, and transformation.
Kallie was super stoked to hear about our Galentine’s event and gave away a spray tan. She owns Bronzed and Boujee Glo-tique a spray tan service. She is a Master Certified and licensed spray tan artist serving the Jacksonville and St. Johns, Florida areas.
This lingerie shop was founded in Jacksonville in 2016 but serves women all over the US. They have an online store and they offer lingerie for women of all shapes and sizes. Their mission is to ensure women feel d’zired whether it is for their partner or most important for themselves. The winner at the event received a gave away a $25 gift card to shop.
Brianna owns B. Nicole Beauty offers luxury beauty services designed to enhance your self-care she offers brow, skin, and bridal services. Her studio is located in the St. John’s Towncenter and her space is giving lux/relaxation all day every day. She gave away a glam makeup session.
Grace Salon is located on the Southside of Jacksonville that specializes in balayage and color. Anais has a team of some talented stylists including herself and she offered a blowout session to one queen.
Lash Jax has two locations in Jacksonville and offers lashes, brows, and facials. Their mission is to inspire you to discover your unique beauty, the beauty that is much deeper than the surface of the skin. You can guarantee that you will leave their salon feeling refreshed and beautiful. Tammy the owner of Lash Jax gave away a brow lamination service.
When is the next one?!
If you’re bummed you missed last year’s Galentine’s Day event, don’t worry! We are planning an amazing Galentine’s Day event for February 11, 2023! This year’s theme is Boards & Babes, where we’ll take a class in charcuterie while sipping wine.
Last year’s event was more than I could have hoped for. I am so, so grateful to those who bought a ticket and helped create such a magical day!
